Came here for a farm-to-table, lighter meal. It's a spacious place that will be easy to get into, and I would highly recommend if you're trying to have a healthier meal but still dine out. Everything was pretty fresh tasting, and I liked how light it was and the portion size on the chicken dish was huge, I wasn't even able to finish it. Definitely recommend checking this spot out if you're in the area or planning a last minute reservation, it's quite large and you can catch up with a friend easily or take your family here. I bookmarked this place for brunch so I may return to try that, but I had dinner here and tried a variety of things. The fish was delicious too. I would skip the focaccia as it didn't come out super fresh and have definitely had better in the city.

Cookshop is the kind of place that doesn't need to show off, and maybe that's why the presentation looked like it got dressed in the dark. But don't let that fool you. Behind the poor plating of the food is a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. I wandered in after a sun-soaked stroll down the High Line, not expecting much. West side joints can be hit-or-miss, more style than substance. But Cookshop delivered. Every. Damn. Bite! I kicked things off with an nonalcoholic drink: warm bone broth laced with rosemary. Wow! No regrets, just pure soul in a cup. For apps I went with the grilled Jersey asparagus slathered with a creamy egg salad, and a savory leek crostata that oozed raclette and indulgence beneath a perfectly poached egg. Then the mains: A delegate portion of trout butterflied and kissed with snap peas and salgorigillo. And the Finger Lake lamb, a spring fever dream of mint, bulgur, and English peas, all dancing on the plate. Then I ended my symphony with a slice of cake. A gluten-free bourbon chocolate number with salted caramel, peanuts, and crème fraîche, paired with a scoop of vanilla gelato from Gelato d'Arte. It didn't just hit the spot, it wrote love letters to it. Inside, the place is all sunlight and hustle. Huge windows, open energy, and the kind of casually polished vibe that makes you forget you're still in Manhattan. Cookshop is not trying to impress you, it just does. Five stars, no question.

First time here. Had a 6pm reservation but we got there about 45 minutes early. The host staff were very nice and were able to seat us early. Instead of squeezing us at a table for 2 we were seated at a table for 4 which was so nice! The wait staff came over promptly & my daughter and I enjoyed lovely glasses of a Brut rose. We shared a beet salad and focaccia as apps- both were delicious. Coincidentally we both ordered the burger, which was served with the BEST French fries I've ever had- thin & crispy ( burger was excellent also)!!! Although we both were pretty full, we managed a capaccino and a scoop of dark chocolate gelato. Good food, attentive wait staff and pleasant ambiance - what more can you ask for? We'll be back !!!

The place is on the smaller side but very trendy and lively. Convenient location and tasty food. Service was fast and the waiter remembered us from a previous visit.

This review is a bit delayed, but I visited here with my boyfriend in November 2024, and we had a great dinner. The restaurant is very clean with a cozy vibe and positive energy. We walked in and were told there would be a 25-30 minute wait, but we were seated in just about 15 minutes at most on the outdoor heated patio. However, I'd still recommend making a reservation, as the place got busier later on. The menu is seasonal, so it changes to feature fresh ingredients based on the time of year. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers to share: The savoy spinach was fresh and perfectly balanced. The grilled Carolina shrimp cocktail was well-seasoned and tasty. Entrees: I had the Cookshop Burger (medium rare), which came with pickles, onions, and fries. It was juicy and savory--I highly recommend it. My boyfriend had the fish, which he enjoyed. The portions were generous, leaving just enough room for dessert. Dessert: We had the apple crisp, which came with a delicious pecan streusel topping and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The crunchy streusel contrasted nicely with the soft apples, and the ice cream added a smooth, cool touch. It was an absolutely satisfying end to the meal. Overall, the food was fantastic, and the wine was excellent! We cleaned all our plates. The prices were reasonable for the area. Service was friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back to try their brunch options!

Enjoyed my experience at Cookshop! Came here with my husband and we split the deviled eggs and squash. Deviled eggs were great! The squash was pretty good but leaned sweet. For my main I ordered the arctic char which is similar to salmon. I liked it! It had a rich flavor. The space itself was nice and the waiter was attentive to our table.

Great food, quick service, sat us right on time during a busy 1:45pm reservation on a wintery Sunday. Food was phenomenal. I highly recommend the grilled cheese (it comes with spinach and it is wonderful). Homemade chips were so thin and so Devine!!! Beignet was just ok but I was stuffed and pleased by the end of the meal!

This restaurant is gorgeous inside. Great lighting, clean interiors and feels very cozy. The staff here are also very helpful and great with prompt attentive service. I sat at the bar, and they were able to give recommendations. All the food, drinks, and dessert I tried were wonderful.

Fabulous Resturant with a super creative menu utilizing healthy selections. As soon as you walk in you feel right at home. So inviting and comfortable. We started with delicious espresso martinis. Perfect!!! This is a great restaurant to share dishes. We started with the spinach salad which has dates and pistachios. Delicious. The sweet potatoes had a walnut sage sauce that was so satisfying. This was my favorite item on the menu. The mussels were perfect but the best part was dipping the sourdough bread in the sauce. I wish the pizza was a little more creamier. The crust was perfect just wanted the toppings to be saucier. The restaurant is so inviting and warm with a wonderful staff. You will love it !!!!

Came here to visit a longtime friend/former coworker for lunch after many years. With such a impromptu decision on my end, we had to find a place near the Chelsea area that we could grab lunch during the workweek and not worry about reservations. With the help of some nice referrals/recommendations, we found Cookshop to be the place. Not only was there no wait, but there was ample seating indoors/outdoors to enjoy the summer weather. As it was nearing the end of the week, we settled for some lunch cocktails. I got myself the Live from the Garden. I'm not a big gin guy, but I really did appreciate the cocktail as the cucumber and apples aptly hid the strong flavor of the gin. Can be dangerous haha, but one won't hurt. I also appreciate that it came in a larger glass so I could enjoy it through the end of the meal. As for the main meal, I debated between the butter bean & quinoa salad and the Sedanini, but couldn't resist the latter. My friend chose the former (with egg) and loved it. For me, the presentation sold me. You got the pasta layered in the lemon ricotta (great touch) and the sun dried tomatoes. A tad bit of heat with the chili, but thought it was very filling, even if the plate didn't immediately look so. The prices ain't for the faint of heart, so be prepared for this. However, if you have a special lunch planned and can afford to splurge, you might as well enjoy it!
